Set up a ranking session
Votes are saved to this site along with a random browser ID, basic device details (browser, screen size, time zone, language) and your country, so votes from different people can be kept apart. Your IP address is only stored as a one-way hash.
Keys: ← left, → right, ↓ can't tell. Changes here apply from the next pick.
How this works
Each vote is one pair. A Bradley-Terry model fits every vote together, so the order you vote in does not change the result, which is the main weakness of plain Elo. After a warm-up round, the next pair is two photos whose scores are close and that you have compared least, so each vote does the most work.
Sides are randomized and about one vote in ten repeats an earlier pair with the sides swapped. That gives three honesty checks: how often you agree with yourself, how often your picks loop (A beats B, B beats C, C beats A), and whether you lean toward one side.
Ask one question per session. "Best" mixes several judgments; ranking attraction, confidence and approachability separately and then weighting them is more stable than one vague question. Research also shows people choose less flattering photos of themselves than strangers do, so check your ranking against the looksmax face rank and against friends.
Flash mode shows both photos for 0.6 seconds, the way they are seen while scrolling. Snap judgments of faces at a tenth of a second match judgments made with unlimited time.
